Dinner’s ready! This tucked-away office space can be closed off for privacy or kept open to be used as an easily-accessible, connected space for homework or gaming. Disguising appliances with thoughtfully-designed cabinetry is a must for a more modern space, since it tricks the eye into a clean, uncluttered look. Peeks of other hallways and doors are an intentional way to create an inviting space. They invite visitors to explore and experience the home in the flow it was designed for. When a homeowner wants a modern farmhouse, we used height to our advantage. A two-story great room meant plenty of space for a modern wall treatment to warm up the walls and bring the eye up. Casing the corridor that leads into the master bedroom creates a sense of occasion as the owner transitions from an entertaining to a private space in the home. The homeowner, a pianist, wanted a space designed around a room that looked and sounded beautiful. This custom piano atrium became the focal point of the home and one that makes it completely unique. Glass railing allows light to pass through, preserving a bright and modern aesthetic even if the plan is more traditional. Your main bedroom should feature some of the best views in the home. After all, humans spend about a third of their lives in their beds. Whether winding down or getting ready for the day, the transition of natural light and expansive views center the home. Ceilings are the perfect opportunity to bookend the space. Warm woodwork and plush carpet surround the main bedroom for a cohesive look. You’re not supposed to watch TV in bed, but we don’t judge: We’ll just situate the layout so that if you’re going to watch, you can do it comfortably.
